Our Story
The Awutu Effutu Senya Teachers’ Co-operative Credit Union Limited (AES) started in July 1998 with ten (10) founding members made up of seven (7) male and three (3) females at Winneba in the Central Region. Its initial revenue mobilization was started through payroll deductions by the Controller and Accountant General Department in January, 1999 and within six (6) months the Union began granting loans to its members. The Society had its certificate of incorporation in 3rd May, 2005.
The AES Credit Union organized its first Annual General Meeting in August, 2002 with a membership of Five Hundred and Twenty (520). Since the inception of the AES Credit Union,
it was managed by the Mr. Francis Elliot Otchere who is now on retirement after a long-dedicated service to the Union through policy initiation drive from past management teams who are all duly recognized for the roles they played in sustaining and increasing the membership and the revenue base of the Credit Union.
Currently, the Union is managed by Miss Stella Nana Adwoa Acquah, with two supporting Accounting Staffs. Membership of the Credit Union which was initially restricted to only the Teachers was opened to the general public.
As at December 31, 2022 membership of the Union with minimum shares had grown to 3,452 and the total savings had increased to GHS6,416,584.79

The Awutu Effutu Senya Teachers’ Co-operative Credit Union Ltd is a financial organization which seeks to offer opportunity for teachers and the community at large by inculcating the desire of savings so as to promote financial, technical and educational services which will promote economic, material and social well-being of its members and not overlooking its sustainability.
